Damn, I didn't expect to win.  I didn't even vote for my own offering ;-)  One of my votes went to Twilight of the Gods.

Thankyou to those who put me in this awkward position.

If I haven't set  the next challenge by Wednesday evening feel free to give me a prod.  I may be very tied up tomorrow if certain things don't pan out as they should in the morning.

Thanks again,

Gyppo

Who wrote the others then?  Confess.  Purge yourselves.

Congrats, Gyppo. I wanted to say something about old dogs and new tricks, but I get the feeling you're not even close to being an old dog yet.

Well done.

I've not defected.  I've always dabbled occasionally in the Dark Arts, as proven in the now defunct Longest Poem thread, http://www.mywriterscircle.com/index.php/topic,8437.0.html
but I've never seen myself as a poet, just a writer who occasionally feels the lure of the more condensed form ;-)

My tussle with the Inland Revenue has somewhat darkened my day, but tomorrow (Wednesday) I'll give you the new challenge.  I have a couple of things in mind and it may come down to the toss of a coin.
