Forum profile question
« on: January 27, 2012, 06:27:02 PM »
Just need a little clarification about the profile information, specifically the website information below the signature section. If I put a website in that section (below the signature) will that show up on my posts? If I understand the rules, it would have to be "writing" related site ? I have multiple sites, but they are not writing related.
Thanks,
LAter, Bill

Are you selling items from that blog? or is there questionable content?

If not it will probably fly.

The sites are regular web sites, not blogs, and the links will go to my sites where I do sell custom items. I'm thinking it would not be accepted....then the other question is where the sites would show up, if entered below the signature line....

My links in my signature line aren't about writing. They are what I write.
Little Bits of History A short essay on something that happened on any day.

Imperfect Reason My thoughts, such as they are.

They would be displayed where you have, 'LAter, Bill' written.

Thanks, and that answers the one question, and the other question is if they have to be writing related, or what I write ? Meaning that I can't use sites that are my businesses...which are not related to writing?? I just don't want to step out of bounds by doing the wrong thing.

The key word there is business.

1. Spammers. MWC has a zero-tolerance policy towards spamming. Links to non-writing-related sites, unless clearly relevant to the subject under discussion, are NOT permitted in posts, profiles or signature text. Anyone found doing this will have their posts deleted immediately and will also be banned from any further participation in the forum.

Thanks Skip. My intention was not to generate spam and that was the reason for my question. All other forums that I am on permit links in the signature, and apparently MWC does not. Not a problem, so I will not put any of my business related sites in the signature.

If there is a different "read" on this, please let me know. Back to writing !!
