The first contest a writer wins is when they enter. It takes a lot to place your work out there along with others. Many talk about it, but more fear that chance of defeat.

Sorry you weren't chosen, but take heart that lots of people read your story and liked it. Take pride that you actually wrote and submitted, that's a big step, that many never accomplish.

Hope the New Year gives you lots more opportunities to spread your sings.  ;D
