Tired of my Blog template

Thinking of changing my blog template to something that more reflects me and my work. I've gone through the templates offered through Blogger, but nothing's popping out at me saying, "Oh, yes! That's the one, baby!"
Any bloggers out there have advice, lessons learned to share? I'll be incorporating more multimedia soon with audio versions of my stories, etc. More art, too.

Depends if you want something 'fun' or professional-looking, can be both obviously.

Currently one of the things that I have done to make the design of my - Writer's Lifestyle - Blog a little more attractive is to make some of the colors match
better with each other, because I actually got complaints from readers that it was all a little bit to Loud and uneasy to the
eyes, so Now it's more easy on the eyes.

Besides the standard templates offered through Blogger I also did discover some sites where you can buy other (Blogger) templates, only
I haven't really done any real research for other templates because the design currently has already improved a lot and - design - isn't
a big priority anymore.

Are you using both a blog and a website, or just a blog?

I have made websites in the past, only now I just work with Blogs, I do think that they are
more flexible and more easy to change and to update.

I use both. Primarily a blog at the moment. My site is specifically for my fiction. It is currently in the design stage.

I also thought about possibly doing both, and than on my website put on a link to my Blog, only since with Blogs you can also make things
that pretty much look like actual websites, also with my Blogs I can even create links with other Pages, so it makes me wonder if there
is an extra value for actually creating websites, it makes me wonder if websites have advantages?
