Just a well-read punk peasant

Going to church makes you a christian as much as standing in a garage makes you a car!

Probably, but not "should read because you will enjoy them all". I thought Catcher in the Rye was absolute twaddle, but I don't regret reading it. At least when it is referred to I know the story. And it only wasted a few hours of my life.

I call lists like that "Things to do/books to read/movies to watch so people you don't give a crap about thinks the person you pretend to be is interesting, while the real you is bored out of his/her mind." So no, I don't agree. ;)

I don't agree either. It's a  pretty pretentious list.
I think lists of great movies, however, are pretty accurate much of the time.

I have a deep-rooted aversion to lists, or 'experts' telling me what I must or even should read.  This may be why I've never read anything by Dan Brown and thus have no personal opinion about the man.
My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1

For most of the one's on that list that I've read, I'd tell people to just watch the movie so they can read something else.

One that may not be that well known, but which I'd highly recommend is: Suite Francaise by Irčne Némirovsky
