Pengwyllim Bay - A Declaration
« on: August 18, 2006, 06:19:46 AM »
Low tide on Pengwyllim Bay,
And fresh the wounds of separation,
I squish and squelch
     To where some driftwood lay,
Needed for my declaration.

Her name in the sand I carved
In letters five feet high,
As a final part
     I etched a heart,
And FOREVER, my declaration.

Climbing high above,
On Pengwyllim Bluff,
To survey my creation,
I realize
     To strangers eyes,
The insignificance of my declaration.

Then the tide did
What tides will do,
Rise up and wash away.
Now what once was
     No longer is,
Like words on Pengwyllim Bay.

Sun sets on Pengwyllim Bay,
Glistens silver, red and gold.
As strangers tide like, ebb away,
     thier oblivion
Strikes a descant chord.

All that remains are echoes and night,
And shipwrecked wretched isolation,
And over and over
     Lament the lost,
Forlorn, my declaration.
