10 hours left Olymp-inks
« on: October 04, 2011, 08:31:56 AM »

Well, itís nearly over, all bar 10 hours and I bet many of you will be glad to see the back of my ugly mug, I know I will.

I am wondering how many of you have realized what you have gained by participating. Some of you have gained the confidence to enter a competition for the very first time, and guess what, you lived. ;D Youíre over that hurdle. Others have gained experience in working to tight deadlines. Vocabularies were widened.Your brain has had a work-out, something not all of us think about exercising when we have written ourselves into a corner.

In fact many organisational skills have come into play with these events. Members have participated and collaborated to an end goal and everyone of you who participated should be proud of yourselves.

Even the competitive streak came to the front with the online games. Though, we all know Sio had it in for me.  >:( >:D
Judges, marshals and entrants made this great fun. Good on ya all. Well done.

So lets finish this off with a bang. These events are open till midnight BST. You still have time to enter. GET STUCK IN.

I hope, once Ma and her Gang of Jolly Judges has recuperated that there is another set of Olymp_inks in the future.  :o  ;D  ;) :-* :-* :-* :-* ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D

I'm pushing for every October, or every other October, or every four years. Hee hee.  They have been a big boon for me to write. Believe me, you lot have done some good for a lot of writers and we've all had fun ranting and raving like the lunatics we are.  :P Seriously, friendships have deepened and I have such a huge appreciation for you mods, Nick, and the judges as well as the regulars around here and of course my illustrious partners, Don, :-* Silt, :-* and one other :-* who has yet to be confirmed.

It's been more fun than fun. ;D :)

Hugs,
~Deb

Ummm, let me think about that.  No. ;D

Haven't you more interesting things to do, Giiiirl?  ;)

I can't wait to see the Rhythmic Relay or whatever that little ditty was. I wonder how many entered. It was my favorite non team event.  All of the team events were a hoot. I had a blast on those. How about you?  What was your favorite?

I liked the buzz of the team games, going live really piles the pressure on.

I reckon there should have been an 'open' limericks competition, where the person who completes the most lines in sets of limericks would have have been fun. Say, five limerick threads started, anybody can contribute as long as they don't double post. Could cause mayhem with the red warning notices and freak out the quicksters with the 20 secs notices too.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Am I evil? >:D
