Windsong (110 words)
« on: August 05, 2011, 06:54:39 AM »
I think the experience of being high in a tree on a windy day is amazing, so I wrote this little piece.

Wind sighs through leaves and the trees weave back and forth in time. Long grass bows low before it and a boy’s shirt flaps about wildly as he runs as fast as he can. He races across the field and reaches the base of the tree gasping for breath but doesn’t dare stop lest he miss his chance. Up he climbs, hands and feet guiding themselves to well-worn branches. Higher and higher he climbs until he can’t climb anymore and he just holds on as tight as he can. The boy’s laughter mingles with the wind’s song as he dances along with the tree, high above the fields below.

“Life is either a great adventure or nothing.”

I've been that boy ;-)
My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at
