Lets see.  I'm not sure I could pick a few authors, but there are some who have influenced my thinking and writing style.  Some writers I enjoyed as a youngster, but can't relate to them much later in life. (i.e. Andre Norton, for example)  I like Clemens a lot.  Also Hemingway, Rolvaag, Wibberly, Marquis, Christie, Sapir & Murphy, to name a few.
