Edited, formatted and sent. This is submission numero uno for me. So if I get this it'll be listed under "Things that never happen".

Fingers crossed for you, Thatollie.  I've got one in the pile, as well.

It was a fun premise to work with  :)

Good man.  As they say about the lottery, 'You have to be in it to win it'.
My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1

That means (approximately) that you need to write a story in the top 2% to get published. Which is going to make me feel slightly okay if I get rejected and super happy if I get accepted.

Over 1200 stories from 6 continents - it's going to be really tough to get picked and quite a compliment if it clicked. (Some poor rhyming attempted there.) ;D

It's thanks to MWC that I heard about the anthology - I've sent in two submissions, and this is really my first attempt at actual short stories, so I really owe it to MWC for first telling me about it and then making me actually submit. I find that my time here has been pushing me further along the road to serious writing (and hopefully publishing), and I'm truly grateful to the community here for that. :)

Enough with the sentimentality now - how cool is the idea of a machine that tells you how you'll die, eh? Some of the stories from the first anthology were mind-blowing - a very well spent rainy afternoon, on the edge of my seat.

Oh no - I hadn't done the maths! I wish I hadn't seen the numbers now! Still, as you say, if you get a story accepted, it'll be a real accolade. I hadn't ever considered this type of fiction before and I really enjoyed having to stretch the imagination a bit further than normal. It's a great premise and got me thinking about all sorts of scenarios which is no bad thing! Good luck to everyone from MWC who submitted and thanks for bringing this wonderful anthology to our attention.

I'm with Blot - MWC is a great source of info, encouragement, and inspiration.  Since hanging out here I've set a personal goal to submit pieces to contests at least monthly.

Okay, who will share their Machine of Death titles?

I submitted Coronary Heart Disease & The Collaboration
