The New Quarterly invites entries for The Nick Blatchford Occasional Verse Contest. This contest is for poems written in response to an occasion, personal or public—poems of gratitude or grief, poems that celebrate or berate, poems that make of something an occasion or simply mark one.
Prizes: $1000 for the winning poem; another $1000 in prizes. All submissions considered for paid publication. Entry fee: $40 for 2 poems; additional poems $5/ea (entry fee includes a 1 year subscription to The New Quarterly: Canadian Writers and Writing). Entrants must be Canadian residents or citizens.
