We had snow overnight.  Abut half an inch of the stuff.  At 6 am it looked quite pretty.  By 7 am it had been beaten into submission on the roads and run away down the drains.  By dinnertime most of it was gone except from shady places like behind my coal bunker.

Snowy and cold...  was -6c driving home an hour ago and there are no clouds in the sky so it will be a double duvet night tonight.  :D

Shouldn't you guys have lots and lots of snow at this time of the year?

We should have lots and lots of hot but alas, none. Reaches about 28'C tops and rains most days.

I have to say, apart from the flooding, they country has looked amazing this summer.

Last week I was in temperatures of 24C in Cape Verde Islands and now I'm into -11C this morning. Temp just gone up to -6C and very sunny and crisp.  The ice on the Nordhollands CBlocked  looks like shards of sparkling glass, where the cBlocked boats have cracked it and sent it upwards.  It's quite beautiful, glinting in the sun.

We are having a party this evening, there are eight of us. Meeting the new girlfriend of my son for the first time!  Hubby was 60 last week whilst we were on Cape Verde.  So the family missed the event.  We will do it tonight instead.  Warm and cosy and plenty to eat and drink - I am doing a lamb roast on a bed of beans and spinach.  Cheesy potatoes, carrots, mint sauce for those who like it, and a mocca birthday tart, Dutch style, lots of cream.

We had ourselves another snowfall in Norfolk, replacing the snow I mailed to Frogg.

Freezing. I can hardly open my backdoor, and - which is worse - I cannot open the door to our shed wide enough to be able to squeeze through (and I'm thin!), meaning I can't feed my rabbit. I can only hope the hubby can yank that bloody door open a little bit wider, so I can get in, but he went to see his parents up north yesterday and hasn't come back yet. I'm really anxious for him to come back home now. My poor little rabbit...  :(

Warm but overcast. Not hot or humid, rather pleasant really.

It's not been above freezing for several days now.  The water for the birds freezes every night, so each morning I tip out the frozen block and stack it up on top of the frozen puddle in the bird bath.  It's a kind of ice sculpture ;-)

It's probably voodoo.  Insomnio probably felt sorry for the snow you sent her, wrapped it in a scarf, and gave it a hot cup of builders tea. You know what a soft touch she is. Which had a bad side effect on your current snow.

They said it would be colder today and they were right - it was actually cold enough for sleet to form and fall to earth in quite. Had there been the appropriate music, it would have been like watching a dance.
