Thin grey overcast, no wind at all, a bit nippy but nothing like the last couple of days.  No frosty rooftops.

If it wasn't for the background motorway noise I think it would be one of those very quiet mornings where it feels as if the world is waiting for something to happen.

Seems the same way over here, Gyppo. Even the wind is holding its breath.

From about 10 am it settled in to rain and has only just stopped.  The sky is still full of low cloud, although the moon is doing its best to show through.  I went for a short stroll down the path to look at the moon and the stillness is back again.  It's a bit uncanny.

You folks need to move to Memphis.  It was a chilly 50 degrees F today, with the sun shining in a clear, blue sky.  Want me to hook you up with a real estate agent?

Sunny, washed-out watercolour blue sky with patches of semi-see-through cloud which look almost apologetic for being there.  Fresh, as opposed to truly cold.  Room temperature has eased back up to 60 F after the overnight cooling.

Sunlight is silvery, rather than golden.  Like an ultrabright moon.

I can see some blue in the sky this morning - nice change. The temp is a doable 56 F, will drop again tonight, but for now I can venture out without a jacket - which is great.  ;D

As Ernie focused on the red stain, his pace slowed down.
It's bright glow against the snow made him think of chiaroscuro.
What is that? he thought.
Is that blood? Where did it come from?
Ernie looked around, but there were no other tracks in the snow.
Then, he looked up.

Non stop rain and a lashing wind since around 3pm.

I was having a little nap, having gone to sleep in the sunshine, only to be rudely awoken by the machine-gun rattle of big splashy raindrops hammering against the window.  Glad I closed it before nodding off ;-)

The wind is npow blowing along the street, rather than slamming straight onto the front of my house.

I've just put our wheelie bin out for tomorrow morning's collection.  Hope it's still there when the bin men arrive.

The hurricane hasn't arrived yet.  Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye

Predicted force 10 winds from the south west up the Channel.  A Hurricane is a force 12, so you're safe from a full blown  hurricane so far.
