The countryside, which at this time of the year, should be brown and dry, is lush and green.  ;D

At least it shouldn't burn so easily.  Which may mean a few less night-time call-outs.

It's night time here and the sky is crystal clear. The stars are so near, I thought I could reach out and grab Orion's sword

or whatever that thing is dangling there  ;)

Got an app for my phone called "sky map" - hold it up and it shows the constellation you are looking at.  8)

Frost in the roofs opposite at around 7am.  All gone by 8 am.  (The frost, not the roofs.  If only...)

Thin overcast, fighting with a silvery sun.

My room temperature, 56 F.

We are just around the corner Andrews. Not far at all, as the crow flies and I am no crow before you jump on that one.

10'C here mate, might as well be 2'.

I had to wear a jumper.  :o

Have to break out the heated bra again soon.  :P

Serves you right for having a Velux window.  If it was just a blank expanse of tiles or roof lining you wouldn't have to see it from inside ;-)

I remember waking up in the caravan with ice on the inside of the windows where the condensation froze.  Amazing feathery patterns sometimes.  We used to open them, (hinged at the top), and scrape it off so it fell outside.  If we waited too long it would thaw and run down the walls inside, making the bedding damp.

Dad turned it into a game.  "Let's say thank you to Jack Frost for the pretty pictures he drew us last night, and then clean them off so he can do some more tonight."  Then we would warm our frozen little fingers at the stove while Mum dished out crumpets or toast.

When Sis and I were little we really thought of Jack Frost as a real person.  The chilly fingers seemed a fair exchange for the feathery 'ice ferns' on the windows.

We weren't so tolerant of him when he got a bit carried away and froze our water tank one really cold night.  Dad had to take the kettle and a couple of pans to the stand-pipe and the water straight from the tap was so cold it brought tears to your eyes if you stuck a finger into it.

I remember one winter was so cold 'the men' talked the site owner in to leaving the stand pipe running gently overnight so it wouldn't freeze.  In the morning the water was still flowing, even though there was  long 'beard' of ice hanging from the tap, but the sloping concrete base around the tap leading to the drain was like an ice rink.

It's making me shiver, recalling this.  Quite seriously.

Bu then our bathroom wouldn't get any light! ;)

I also remember tales of Jack Frost as a boy. We used to have ice crawling up the inside of our windows in the kitchen. I remember sitting at the table eating my breakfast, whilst my Dad told me Jack Frost had been to visit in the night.

Oh, the joys of central heating now! :)

Everything is wet and either slick or soggy, depending on the surface. When I step outside, believe me, I am super careful. It's a scary feeling to feel your walking stick lose traction even if both feet are firmly planted at the time.

Even so, I'll not complain about the rain we've been having. We're still somewhere around 16 or 17 inches behind our yearly average.

Alice is it slippery because of lack of rain mate and what it needs to wash away?

Its not raining here today but it is threatening.

Not cold that's the main thing.
