Suddenly it feels colder.  Cold enough to put a jumper on when just sat here with nothing moving except my fingers over the keyboard.  If it stays like this for a couple of day's I'll acclimatise to it and probably be back in shirtsleeves again.

Room temperature is 58 F, which wouldn't normally feel this cold.

The sky seems very high tonight, with no cloud and bright stars.  They always seems brighter when the moon is nowt but a thin crescent and offers no competition.

I wonder if this is the start of the long awaited 'Siberian Chill' which the papers have been promising for several weeks.  Certainly the First Breath of the Winter Wolf

I really must get my broken window fixed ;-).

It's not broken, it just won't shut properly.  It's one of those horizontally opening windows, hinged at the top.  I've filled the gap with a rolled up towel and sealed it up with a plastic bin liner and tape.  It keeps the rain out, but it's a long way from wind-proof.  The plastic bag rattle away like the sails on an old square rigger, or a wet frozen ponytail at 100 mph.

More of a nuisance than a disaster.

Ahh, I thought you may have had a bird hit it and break the glass. We have had that here a few times, poor old bird lying in the yard when we go out.  ???

We get quite few bird strikes, probably because they see the hedge reflected in the glass and try to land 'in' it.  Usually the smaller birds though.  Being lighter they usually bounce off, though I've had to pick up one or two, check them over, and keep them in a box until they recover properly.  Can't leave them wobbling around punch-drunk in case the neighbouring cats get them.  Soft old bugger ;-)

We've not had anywhere near as many since i hung a couple of old CDs in the window.  They twist in the wind and act as a bit of a bird scarer, but not enough to keep them out of the real hedge.

Crazy New England weather. October was freezing cold with temps in the daytime not getting above freezing and dipping miserably at night.
Here it is the end of November and we are all in T-shirts and shorts with the temps downright balmy. I heard on the news that it is snowing far south in Tennessee.
Not complaining mind you, it was lovely to have the windows and doors open today.  :) :) :)

It's the same weather in Ontario, what snow did fall has long since melted

It's only two degrees warmer than yesterday, 60 F as opposed to 58 F, but it feels so much warmer.  I think the old Polar Bear must have been feeling ill yesterday.

Today is wet, grey, and windy but feels much better.
