I have a tree thing that grows right outside my front door. Every so often I hack it away, but still it grows faster than I care to hack especially now that we are up over 100 degrees. Maybe it wants to come in out of the heat?!

The next time you lop it off, drill a hole in what is left and fill it with table salt. That should discourage it from reaching for the sky again.

My weather - for the last 30 or so days, it has been hot or hotter. We've been experiencing temps of 100 or more for way too long with little or no rain.

Send some of that weather here its raining, mild and miserable.  Can't make its mind up what to do next.  (Holland)

Sounds to me as if the weather is quite settled in its own mind.  Just that you don't like its decision ;-)  Would you really be any happier if The Lowlands were baked dry at 100 + for days on end?  I somehow doubt it.

Wet.  But I'm in a good enough mood not to give a damn.

I don't even have to go out and top up the bird feeders today, I did it all last night.  And the water bowl's brimming anyway, with proper water rather than the tap stuff.

Hot and humid again.   :P
After a very wet spring, we now need rain desperately.  Go figure.

Still hot, but a bit overcast and despite the fact the temp is bumping shoulders with the 100 F mark, it hasn't quite made it yet. Only 98 F.  ;D

We broke the 100, which is weird for up here. Hot enough to melt the Devil's ice cubes.

Windless, cloudy, but cool in comparison with last nights 80F until I put the lights off and opened the windows.  Only a 'mere' 70F, so I'll not bother putting a shirt on until I go out later.

We had a leaflet recently from the police, warning about the dangers of leaving windows open.  The way I see it anyone shinning up the drainpipe and entering my room in the dark last night would have gone back out before they knew what was happening.  The only question would have been in which form.  Sliced?  Diced?  Or relatively intact until they hit the ground?

Gyppo - Feeling surprisingly benign towards the world, despite the above comment.
