Breezy, blue between the scudding clouds . . . rain threatening.

Patchy overcast with three distinct layers of cloud.  Low black, middle grey, and high fluffy white cirrus.

Sizeable gaps in the cloud, creating definite and occasionally dramatic cloud canyons though which the sun is streaming.

Hot in the sheltered 'suntrap corners', but the breeze had a bite to it when I ventured out shirtless to top up the bird feeders.

Cloud pattern was the same last night, quietly spectacular in the moonlight even with only half a moon.

Nice, comfortable temp. right now makes it possible to forget the heat that I know will be along later in the day.

Still no sign of the rain we need.  :P

It is so swelteringly hot that I'm glad I learned where and how to buy electrolytes this week. I still bicycle everywhere, and everybody can smell me coming.

Cold, overcast and looking rather miserable outside. I will need a jacket for sure.  ???

!0:20 pm.  Not a star in sight, so the cloud cover must be damned near 100%.  I've just had to shut the window.  Not because if the temperature but to stop the moths coming in.  Which means the 'Bat Diner' is now open for business again.  Just little moths (aperitifs?) on the menu at the moment, the bigger 'main course' ones tend to come out later at night.

I want a real thunderstorm too. Preferable one that dumps a couple of inches of that wet stuff on us.

Unfortunately I was right in expecting the temp. to rise. We've set a new record for high temp. for this day in our history. 99 F - that's 10 degrees higher than our average for this day.

Oh well, at least my hands and feet aren't freezing.  8)

And possibly more forecast as the pelting rain moves over later in the week too. ;D It was great and the rain stopped after the show - not like the boring grey days where it seems to be wet all day.

It's raining Cats and Dogs!!!

If I were able, I would be doing a dance to celebrate.  ;D    ;D    ;D

There is even hail, sparse and tiny right here, but some places are reporting Quarter size hail stones. Unusual for this time of year.

As Suzi Quatro said when she discovered the reason my sister wasn't on her feet dancing at a concert - she'd had a Caesarean only five days earlier - "Just sit there and wriggle what you can, Sister."  And then launched into Devilgate Drive.

There's no real telling what the weather's gonna do down here. A week from yesterday, it was in the 80's, stayed that way almost all week, and then yesterday morning, it was windy and cold. I had to wear a jacket to church. But that's just the way it is here... the weather never gets boring, that's for sure!

It's been overcast for the past two days with no promise of rain for our barren fields.  Puffy, gray clouds only taunt us, deprive us.  I'm angry at the torturous bastards.  Today I will draw my curtains tight instead of staring outside and mumbling prayers for relief.  In my splashy kitchen, I will prepare jazzy Jambalaya and sip wet wine.  Then I promise to settle in after my impromptu feast and dream of a deluge -- an unrelenting, cloudy supply for several days, which washes the dusty senses, intoxicates the fields and banishes the pain.

That's my comment on the weather here, but I think my drama might become the first line of a new short story ;D

I do wish it would rain though!

Sunny.  Windy enough to be pleasantly cool.

Went out to work in the garden, found I couldn't reach the bit of hedge I wanted to trim without clearing a lot more first, or developing six foot long legs, so said "Sod it!" and went back indoors.  I may tackle it from the other side when the contractors knock off for the day and aren't thundering up and down the service road where I'll need to stand.
