Sometimes the remake is better than the original, imho.

I personally prefer the remakes of The Miracle on 34th Street and Scarface.

Saving Mr. Wu.

I liked this (I believe Chinese production) movie.  I also watched another of their films called  '3'  both crime/drama. Both good.

My last movie was Tom Hanks Da Vinci Code.

I would like to see the most recent one, however my wife hasn't seen the older ones. I'm not complaining as I liked them loads anyway :)

Deepwater Horizon

A surprisingly well done and superbly acted movie that outlines the events leading up to BP Oil's April 20, 2010 drilling rig catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico, the disaster itself, and the aftermath left its wake. I believe it was a fitting way to tell the story of that tragedy with the actors committed to portraying those involved with as much accuracy as possible. I predict  a few Oscar Nominations for this one.

Star Wars: Rogue One

I liked it more than The Force Awakens.

Just this evening I watched A Man Called Horse, from the 70s.  I saw it when it first came out and it still seemed pretty damned good.
My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1

I revisited Trading Places over the holiday weekend. It's still funny.  ;D

The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Didn't have expectations since I hadn't heard any talk about it, but worth the time. Good enough story line, and the sets alone are worth checking it out - 1960's Europe. The cars and clothes are fantastic.

i just saw florence foster jenkins and it was a hoot! i was in a good mood though which helps massively. i dont know if this is the place to waffle boringly on about historical accuracy but for a film that was so detailed in depicting 1930s scenery in every way right down to re-designing whole new york blocks, only to then get amnesia about one of the defining characteristics of political life ... was a bit weird. the film for some reason pretended that there wasnt apartheid in america. and furthermore pretended that black GIs were not in fact confined to separate units and expected to socialize appropriately, but on the contrary welcomed and befriended like heroes at carnegie hall ... it's a bit suspect if you ask me. what's all that about? it's like a blackwash of history.

im not saying that a gentle slapstick comedy like florence foster jenkins should in any way address apartheid, of course not. but the fact that it actually did and lied about it is something i cant figure out. sorry i think im waffling.

oh yeh i also saw arrival and it's a 10/10 classic!

Moana!!

OMG. It was such a good movie. It does not seem to be getting the same attention as Frozen, it is certainly a not Let it Go, but it is still so good. And personally its my favourite from the last three of that style. Tangled Frozen and Moana. Amazing and must watch!! It is very original and not cliche at all. Sweet :)
