'Ello!

Hi everyone, I'm Katie. I've loved reading since Kindergarten, when I finished the whole reading curriculum and my teacher was forced to find me something else to read. I've loved to write almost as long. My goal is to write a full-length novel, since that's the thing that's hardest for me to do. And then, depending on the result, hopefully publish it :D
My current novel is Make Me Like You (working title; Drinkers is also a possibility). It's a vampire novel about an old "Drinker" who lived her human life in Ancient Greece and a brand-new teenage vampire who is just starting to learn the ropes. My website, kayoung.webs.com, has a more detailed plot description and a short excerpt.
I like to write all kinds of things, but especially Fantasy, since you have fewer limits. Honestly, I prefer to be able to have a giant bird thing swoop in and attack the main character if I'm experiencing a bad case of writer's block. I also do some poetry and short screenplays occasionally. I'm also an actress, so potentially I could write a novel, adapt it into a movie, and then play a main character :D
I participate in NaNoWriMo each year (well, starting last year I do). My username there is nessieblack09. My novel last year was a sci-fi called Project Z-29. Perhaps someday I'll go back and finish revising it, and then maybe even publish!

Hello Katie,

Welcome to the forum.

"Now, I have to thank you for the Gilligan's Island earworm burrowing through my gray matter," she says while banging her head against the keyboard. ;D Locomotion also got me when I scanned your website, but Gilligan's Island quickly beat it into submission.

And you'll never be the same. :D There is always room for another critique, as well as an entertaining read.

I'm nervous about theses giant birds swooping in and taking out our main characters. Welcome!
