So, let me get this right... absurd hours, ignoring husband, M&M's, adrenaline, and meaningless conversations with kindly gentlemen of the circle...bugles and sabres optional.  OH MY!  I'm SO up for this, but what if I don't make the 50K?

Ok kids, I'm in!  If I can write like I babble, I should crush that word counter.  Remember, no one said it had to make sense.

I still haven't edited last year's Nano Novel yet, so I don't think it would be a good idea for me to join this year. I really need to get that other novel (and the other other one as well) edited first.

I can write like the wind. But I am unclear on two things. One, it sounds like this has to be totally new, nothing you have previously written or even begun. Is that correct? And two, it cannot be started, the first word cannot be laid down, until midnight, Sunday, October 31st.

When I say like the wind, I am thinking of a zephyr.

I believe that is correct. You can outline and make a story plan, but not actually start the new work until November 1st. So, technically I think the correct time to begin is after 12 midnight on October 31st, which would really be November 1.

But you bring up something about time that confuses me. When it is exactly midnight - not a second before or after is that officially the day before or the day after. So that exact time of midnight around the Nano start time - is it October 31 or November 1????

50,000 words a month

12,500 words a week

2,500 words a day (taking weekends off)

333 words an hour (8 hours a day)

5 1/2 words a minute

a word every 11 seconds

OR

50,000 words a month

1650 words a day (30 days in a month)

207 words an hour (8 hours a day)

33 words a minute

2 words per second

Arghh!  And that's working weekends!  Where did I screw up?
