IFWG Publishing have news and submission requests!
« on: April 29, 2010, 07:49:30 AM »
Lots to tell:

1. IFWG Publishing has rapidly expanded in the traditional publishing field. We can, and have, dropped our self publishing wing.

2. Story Quest short story and illustrators contest will close for this period 31 May 2010. All genres open - visit: http://ifwgpublishing.weebly.com/story-quest-contest.html

3. SQ Magazine submissions have closed and we will be producing its first edition in July 2010. Submissions welcome for next edition: http://ifwgpublishing.weebly.com/sq-magazine.html

4. We are a speculative fiction specialist publisher, make a manuscript submission and be part of a team of publishers who are also authors: http://ifwgpublishing.weebly.com/submitting-manuscripts.html

It's great to hear about dropping the self publishing and making yourselves stand out as a traditional publisher!

I wish you all the best in your future endeavours Gerry. It really sounds like things are going great for IFWG.

Fantasy is a genre extremely close to my heart so I hope you continue to forge a path to success!
My debut novel 'Life Eternal' is now available to buy on Amazon in both paperback and kindle.

I am in the process of trying to wittle down my synopsis..I just need to get rid of 62 more words until I hit the 200 max limit.

I am going to be adventurous and flirt with rejection as my story features vampires. I just hope the intrigue, plotlines that surround the main one and comedy keep you interested.

LOL - the key is to avoid the mundane - the hackneyed stuff. Good luck!

Guys

Should add that all publishing expedited by IFWG includes print, eBook, Nook and Kindle. Just to make this clear. :)

Do you only accept short stories as part of SQ magazine? Or do you ever run paperback/ebook anthologies of short speculative fiction?

We have run an all-genre anthology in conjunction with StoreWrite, but we prefer to work on the lower scale magazine format - again all-genre. It is more practical for us, but can be viewed as an anthology, in part.

The only other option available to us is to run an anthology by one or multiple authors - but this work has to be spectacular - to make it a viable marketable book.

Guys

Just a friendly reminder that the Story Quest Short Story Contest is in its last week. We are happy indeed with the response, but like ties for men, and shoes for women, we can't get enough!!! Deadline is 31 May 2010 (and we do allow for time zones! - our company owners are residents of UK, US and Australia).

cheers and good luck!

No, we produce 2 editions each year. The deadline of 30 April is for production in July, while the deadline 31 October, is for production at end of year. This cycles the same way each year, to current plan.

Your website says march as the deadline but a few posts above you say May. I assume it is the march one?

I think you may be confusing the Story Quest Short Story Contest - which has a deadline of 30 May, and the SQ Magazine, which has the deadline 30 April (and is obviously closed).  If we made an error outside of this point, please point out which webpage you are referring to (SQ Magazine vs Story Quest).

cheers

AJB - just realised that your question might have been for something different than I previously answered. Finalists and winners of the Story Quest Contest get published in the next available SQ Magazine - part of the benefit of doing well in the contest.  :)
