Welcome to My Writers Circle, Deborah,

Why don't you take a few minutes to tell us about yourself? Just the basics, like where you're from and what you like to write. Then, feel free to poke around and make some new friends. As you're wandering the dusty halls and corridors, be careful not to trip over any of our members who may be napping there. These are the same people you'll later be asking to review your work.

In your travels, don't forget to check out our forum etiquette here:
http://www.mywriterscircle.com/index.php?topic=7415.0

Also, take a look at the stickies at the top of each board. They will give you an idea of what gets posted where.

You will notice that we have two boards for posting your work. The first is the Review board.  This is where you would post any segment of work you need specific help with. Read the critiquing guidelines and don't be bashful about offering any of your own advice you think may be helpful. This will give you an idea of what to expect when you post your own work.

The other board for posting is The Gallery. This is primarily for finished pieces you would like to share with other members. Give that a look as well. Poetry gets its own section and plenty of action.

Moderators are the guys and girls with the blue stars. We'll be happy to answer any questions you have, and so will any of our members. Just ask. Enjoy.
I have a motto: when in doubt, go for the cheap laugh.

Hey Don! It's so nice to meet you.> My husband (of 50 years) and I live in an RV in Indianapolis, IN. We lived on the road for 5 wonderful years, but now we nurse elderly mothers, ages 91 & 95. Keeps us busy. > About 5 years ago I founded A-1 Writing Academy within another site called Writing.com. I had 32 people on staff and 600 students within 2 yrs., however, we were only charging "points" - not dollars. In despair over students who accepted free tutelage but would not study, I sold the school to a friend who sadly allowed it to collapsed months later.> I decided to found a new writing school & then discovered an article about a woman who testified to how writing therapy healed her of cancer. Troubled for 7 nights, I changed all my plans to make Creative Writing Institute (http://www.creativewritinginstitute.com) a non-profit charity that would scholarship cancer patients in writing therapy. Unfortunately, I've never been able to find the lady and tell her how she changed my life, and that of many others as well. The school is a reality now, but it's new. I've spent the last year studying internet marketing. To say that it has been an interesting and toiling journey would be an understatement. Any and all assistance is very welcome. Thank you for being so cordial. Deb

Hello and welcome Deb. It sounds like you've taken on two big jobs, that of care taker and the writing school. I wish you lots of luck and energy for both.

Smiles,

Me?

In a nut shell: I'm the mother of four sons, grandmother of two boys and two girls and great-grandmother of one precious three year old girl.  ;)

I write almost anything that comes to mind but especially enjoy working in fantasy. Nothing published as yet, but hope springs eternal.

Hey Alice

That's my daughter-in-law's name.> You must be about my age. I'm the mother of two, and grandmother of four. > Have you considered submitting your work to online markets? It's a great way to get started.

Wow, I haven't written a intro for myself in a long time.  :)
Might sound like a bio. Well, I've been writing for almost 2
years now. 3 short stories published. 3 being edited for
an anthology coming out next month. I live in South Africa
and I'm a teacher.

That sounds like everything.  :)

Cheers.

Nope, just books, websites and hard work.  :)
