This is an old one, I know, but George Bernard Shaw (GBS to his mates) once dawdled on his ink pad, and mused that the word 'fish' could, in all phonetic readiness, acquire the alternative spelling ghoti:
* the gh as pronounced in the word trough
* the o as pronounced in the word women
* the ti as pronounced in the word destruction
So, merely as an amusing distraction, would anyone like to render a quick offering using the same precepts?
