Now it's bloody well stopped working again, leaving my computer unprotected. This time it's staying uninstalled. I've re-installed MSE and will stick with it for now. At least it works.

 Hi Hugh.

First, the error message come up in Spanish because Panda is located in Spain.  They don't have all of them translated to the other languages yet.

As for the error, apparently there is a problem with some installations of Vista.  There is a thread on it here:

Hugh,

I apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced.  We are aware of the Error Code 11 issue and are currently working to resolve it as quickly as possible.   I'll be sure to post the solution here as soon as it becomes available.

Crossed Lump Hammers... The symbol for 'Other Work', i.e. not driving, on a tachograph, is... two crossed lump hammers. I wonder what that is trying to say about truck drivers...? ;D

Can't understand Hugh's problems with the little black and white Bear. I've been with it from early on. I've installed the different betas, after uninstalling the previous ones myself. I uninstalled the last beta manually before installing the 1.0 release. And as far as I know, I've never ha any problems. The first beta I installed found things that my previous AV, 'Avira', had missed. Oh, and I'm running Vista Home Premium, though I haven't yet installed SP2; I seem to recall being advised against that somewhere.

Ah well, morning folks. Bones, I'll take a Parisien please, and set a round up for the rest...

body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming : "Woo Hoo, what
a ride!"

Hi Sean-Paul.

My OS is XP Home, Edition 2002, with Service Pack 3. Regarding Panda, I quite liked the little blighter while he was working, but when he kept stopping, leaving me unprotected, I had to kick him into touch.

I’ll watch this thread and, when the hiccups have been cured, maybe have another go at Cloud AV.

Hugh

Hi, Tim. :)

I was just wondering if you could answer a question about scans... I downloaded the new version of Panda a couple weeks ago, and it seems to be running fine, but I noticed that there were some differences with how to scan your computer for viruses. In this version, I can only do a quick scan, although if I select all my files then it will do a complete scan, I think... But there was something else I wasn't sure about. When the scan has finished, it says "Scan canceled", but then below that it says "Your scan has been completed correctly", showing that there were no viruses found.

That was pretty confusing. And I was wondering... because it says that the scan had been cancelled, does that mean that there may be viruses on my computer, but Panda hasn't told me because the scan cancelled too early? I would really appreciate some information and advice. Thank you! :)

I apologize for not keeping up with this thread.  Hugh, are you running version 1.0?  This is the fix for Error 11.

http://www.cloudantivirus.com/forum/thread.jspa?threadID=51898

Emma, the interface on version 1.0 has changed a bit.  You can "scan other items", which will allow you to scan your entire C: drive by checking a box.  Next to the magnifying glass you use to start the scan process, there is an icon with three vertical bars.  At the bottom of that window is a link to "See the events report".  That will tell you what was done and when.  If it says "canceled" instead of "finished" in the top line, let me know.

Thank you for the advice, Tim. I figured out a couple weeks ago how to scan the whole computer, so I'm glad I am able to do that now. And I did what you told me about looking at the Events Report, and the top line did say "canceled". :-\

Let me see what I can find out.  It should say "finished".

According to their support forum, you should download the uninstaller and uninstal Cloud AV, then reinstall and try another full scan.  If it still says "canceled", let me know.

Hi, Tim. I downloaded the uninstaller and then reinstalled Cloud Antivirus. I ran another full scan, and when it got to the end it still said "Scan canceled". But it also stated, again, that "The scan has been completed correctly". However, I checked on the Event Report, like you told me to do last time, and the top line said that the scan had finished... So I assume everything is okay now?

It would appear to be, Emma.  It still shouldn't say it was canceled, so I'm going to send this to Sean-Paul just to be sure. :)

Hey everyone. We released a new version of Cloud Antivirus today with a number of key upgrades, including advanced configuration, a behavioral blocker for instant protection, and self-protection of antivirus files to ensure protection can’t be disabled by targeted malware attacks.

It's been mentioned before in this thread, but just a reminder for those of you in this thread who are using it that you will have to uninstall and then reinstall to take advantage of the upgrades. It should take only a minute or two. Just go here - http://www.cloudantivirus.com If you’re new to Cloud Antivirus and want to try it out, you’ll need to uninstall whatever AV you’re currently using first.

We also released a brand new Pro Edition today, which we’re really excited about! If you want to avoid the whole uninstall/reinstall process with each new release, and benefit from automatic USB and hard drive vaccination and a few other really cool features, you may want to give the Pro Edition a look. You’ll still receive full protection with both the Free and Pro Editions – the Pro is focused on usability and convenience upgrades.

Feel free to let me know if you run into any problems. The Cloud Antivirus Support Forum Red_Barren has mentioned is definitely a good resource: http://www.cloudantivirus.com/forum/index.jspa
