Inside the Bell Curve we huddle in a mass
Hoping to be “normal” – not some outright ass.

Unless we’re feeling special
Then to the edge we run
Never to the left side
That’s the side we shun.

But clinging to illusion of one amidst the crowd
We hope, then pray, and sometime even yell aloud.

Oh please make me a winner
One who soars in flight
And make me stand alone
But to the farthest right.

I am one among the many in the billions here on earth
Hoping to make something of my life of little worth.

I know, rhyming is wrong, or wryming is wrong or perhaps rhyming is rhong.

Someone in a group of which I am a member mentioned everyone was beautiful, others agreed heartily. I said, "Nay, nay, fluffy. Not so fast there. I am not, nor have I ever been, beautiful."

And then we began writing about the essence of beauty and yadda yadda yadda.
One member wrote a poem about us being all part of a crowd in response to a line I had written: If everyone is something, then the something becomes meaningless.

This is my response poem.
Little Bits of History A short essay on something that happened on any day.

Imperfect Reason My thoughts, such as they are.

Can a rhymer rhyme too much, a tisk
To take to task is such a risk
To chase the pretty muse away
is to not indulge the full buffet

Who hasn't done a cover of this one? It must be true!

Everything is beautiful in its own way
Like a starry summer night or a snow covered winter's day
And everybody's beautiful in their own way
Under God's heaven the world's gonna find a way
There is none so bling as he who will not see
We must not close our minds gotta let our thoughts be free
Every hour that passes by you know this world gets a little bit older
It's time to realize that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder
And everything is beautiful...
We shouldn't care about the length of his hair or the color of his skin
Don't worry about what shows from without but the love that lives within
We're gonna get it all together now yeah everything will work out fine
Just take the time to look on the good side my friend
And straighten it out in your mind
Everything is beautiful...
Everything is beautiful...
