"The Spy Who Loved Me"  with Roger Moore.

Actually, I'm just lying back recoverring from some food poisoning here and the wife has been kind enough to program some James Bond movies into the player for me.  Starring Sean Connery and Roger Moore, both before Johnny Depp's time and a much better style and class of acting.

Being a rock n roll and blues freak a friend recommended the movie 'Shout' with John Travolta. The movie was 'missable' but the music ..... wow, great stuff. Stray Cats with a touch of blues.

Hi Foxy,

Thanks for the info - I'm having a blast.

Gone With the Wind.

It just started on the classic movie channel which is doing movies this month that have won Oscars.

Not sure yet if I'll watch the whole thing or not. Even though I seen it several times before, I still find it a good one for studying the development of characters.

"Blue in the Face".   With Harvey Keitel, Miro Sorvino, Madonna ( in a cameo role).

Found the store in Brooklyn which the store in the film is based on, on google maps street view.

Great piece with Jim Jarmusch smoking his last cigarette, and Victor Argo singing "girls like you are  a dime a dozen and I got a nickel to spend ". It's just folks hanging out around the corner shop !

Recently watched 'War of the worlds' starring Tom Cruise..apart from the 'effects' I didn't enjoy it. I just wish they would make a film of Wells book..set in the time its supposed to be and be more true to the book..instead of 'Americanising ' it!
Not a film but over last 2 nights Ive watched DVDs of 'Russia, Land of the Czars'..excellent stuff. I find the history of Russia most interesting.
