Hello!
« on: April 13, 2008, 10:15:24 AM »
I've known about MyWritersCircle for some time now (fantastic resource, Nick, Karl and the team!) but this is the first chance I've had to contribute to the board. My name's Carol and I've been writing professionally for more years than I dare to mention.  ;) I am also founder of writethismoment.net - a jobs and opportunities board for writers which has been established for a few years now.

I hope to contribute to MyWritersCircle on an occasional basis by adding an opportunity or two in the Writers Wanted section! Of course, I can't give too much away as our writers' jobs board is for the benefit of our subscribers, but I can certainly share some of the free listings that appear in our monthly newsletter.

It's nice to see some familiar names here and I'll look forward to popping back soon.

Carol

Hi, Carol!
Welcome to MWC! We are so glad to have you here and you're going to love it!  Everyone is friendly and very helpful, not that you need much help. Anyway, feel free to contact me if you need to for any reason; I'm at your service.
     Sincerely,
     Cynde  :)

P.S.  You ought to change your personal text to:  Now is always the write time!  ;)

Sounds great and will be appreciated - thanks.

But I do hope we will get to read some of your work too? What do you write - Fiction? Non-Fiction?

OK, here comes the formal bit: ;D

We don't have many rules here but please, do take a few moments to check out our etiquette guidelines (click this link:

There are also 'stickies' at the top of each board, which should answer any questions you have about posting in the different areas.

Anything you are unsure off, just ask - there is always someone willing to help.

Hi there,

Thank you all for your friendly welcome messages. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and participating where and when I can.

Cathy ... thanks for the forum guidelines. In answer to your question, I write fiction and non-fiction. The bread and butter work, however, is non-fiction. I started off many years ago freelancing for magazines, newspapers and websites and I now mainly focus on writing material in the self-development field. My most recent book `How to Start and Run an Internet Business' was published by How To Books last August. Where my creative work is concerned, this has been experimental over the years - collaborative works involving words and art; a fantasy novel; short film scripts; prose and poetry; short stories, etc. I was fortunate to win an award for my poetry book `In Touch with the Essence' a couple of years ago. My creative works are still squeezed into tight time slots. One of my projects ( a novel) has been in development for ages but I do hope to finish before the end of the Mayan calendar!  :)

Cynde ... Good thinking about changing the `right' to `write' in my personal text!  ;)

Steve ... Thanks for your feedback. Hope you're gaining plenty of leads from WTM!

Just wanted to add my own welcome to all the others. It's great to have you on board, Carol. And thanks for already posting some market info on the Writers Wanted board.

And to anyone who doesn't know, do at least check out Carol's Write This Moment website. It's a great resource for writers, and very reasonably priced.
