Hey everyone!
Did your lights go off?
I don't know if I am qualified to start this thread. However, I feel compelled to tell eveyone about the events that happened just a few hours ago. I just read this on wikipedia, and on google's home page, that last year they started a trend to turn off all the lights on a global scale from 8 - 9 pm your local time, calling it, Earth Hour.
Apparently, On March 29, 2008, is supposed to mark the second anniversary in this global unity. I for one have not heard about this until just now. My family and I try to do our part in energy conservation. However, we know that what we do is still not enough and continue to try more ways in helping.
I like the idea that we on a global scale can unite for even one hour, no matter what time zone you are in. I just wish I had known about this sooner! I would have participated.
Anyway, I was wondering if any of you participated in this earth hour? Did you know about this? Will you take part next year? Any thoughts would be great. Anyone have more info to provide would be much appreciated.
I think if we can all get together on this since this forum has members from across the globe, then we as a whole can make a difference by doing our part.
Thanks for your thoughts!
