Good Friday Birthday
« on: March 21, 2008, 10:10:30 AM »
Its strange, although its my birthday today, because it is Good Friday too, I feel rather subdued..
Ive always had a faith, was a regular churchgoer at one time and although Im not one anymore, I feel that my faith has grown stronger in recent times.
I had a discussion on here, quite a while back now, I think the topic was about belief in God..and a lady on here (can't recall her name now), when I told her my background, she said I had a 'Jewish soul'?
Ive sat here this morning, with loving cards from family and friends and think how lucky I am to have that love..yet something in me says feel for those who are not so lucky.
Suppose you could say Im having a sober birthday, in all senses ;D
But look forward to Sunday with a sense of hope for the world..please God ;)

p.s. Don't know about where you are, but its a real chilly wind here in the Wolds and snow is forecast down the East coast here tonight and tomorrow! Brrrrrrrr
First day of Spring? Maybe not..

Happy Birthday Oh Sober One

We have had sleet, a few flurries of snow, mixed in with April-type showers.  In between it's alternated from bright sunlight (really warm if you are out of the wind) to dull Widowmaker grey skies.  In short, proper English weather ;-)

This may amuse you.  The wind is really moving the tree opposite my window and every now and then the pattern in the branches looks like a huge three foot long sparrow, complete with a bobbing beak and 'flirting' tail.  When the wind backs off a bit the branches spring back to their usual places and the picture is lost.  There are at least three main branches involved in creating this illusion.  Strange ;-)

Thanks everyone..I don't feel quite so sober after reading your nice bright messages ;D
Cheers me dears XX

Thats interesting Gyp, about 'seeing' a 3 foot sparrow in the pattern of the branches..its amazing what you can 'make out' from things like that isn't it?

D'you know Ive scared myself lately, thinking I saw the shadow of a large grey figure sort of drifting past our bay window at night..till I realised it was the shadow of passing vehicles on the road outside our place....but its creepy :o

BTW Id love some of that Californian warmth right now Russ ;)

But shes adorable and I forgive her :-*
