Sounds good.  I'll plan on doing that.  April 28th is just too early.  What are the deadlines for issue 3? (if you know them).

Cool.  I'll see if I can get something done by then and let you know.  "The Abbey" will probably be book length in the end.

Hi Simon,
Many apologies for not contacting you about your sub, I've been busy with working on the new look HL magazine. Yes, I received your sub and it's going in the 2nd issue, now due out on 10th May.

Cheers,
Ken :)

Thanks Ken, can you PM me or email me when you have a chance to give me some feedback on the story, I have plenty of misgivings about it and would appreciate your critical eye!

Thanks,

Simon

No offence, but aren't you supposed to address those misgivings before you submit for publication?

No offence taken. However due to the nature and structure of the submission, ie a public process of submitting to known authors and forum colleagues by known authors and forum colleagues, it's gives a more informal feel and therefore a more robust and immediate feedback mechanism.

I feel that my story is pretty good but I feel that due to it's age it may need more polishing so I wanted more experienced authors to read it to see if I was right or whether I was just being paranoid.

Being that it is being published, I guess I was being paranoid.

When you say "fresh" you mean fresh as in breath of fresh air and not flirtatious right? ;) ;D

I think he means 'Fresh' as in the mid to late eighties usage in a breakdancing sense, meaning 'good' or 'cool'.

Reference the popular song, 'Get Fresh' by Doug E. Fresh and the Get Fresh Crew (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doug_E._Fresh)

"But anyway, no more delay
Just check out the new style I display
Now ya gotta be (fresh)
To rock with (fresh)
And I'm D.O.U.G.I.E (fresh)"

Aaahhh, the classics.
