Arvon Poetry Competition - Big money prize
« on: March 15, 2008, 04:56:45 PM »
This could well be of interest to the poets here as the Arvon Foundation's 2008 International Poetry Competition has total prize money of 13,500 pounds and a first prize of 7,000 pounds. (Sorry I'm not using the pounds symbol but this is a US/Greek keyboard and it doesn't have  one  >:(.)

The deadline for entries is 14th August and you can read more at http://www.arvonfoundation.org/p88.html.

Incidentally, it's well worth a look at the Arvon Foundation website generally. They run all kinds of residential courses for writers at four centres in England and Scotland. I've never been on one of their courses myself but a friend of mine has been on several and says they are excellent.
