Just finished Jann-Philip Sendker's "A Well-Tempered Heart" last night. I've got a pile of books on my desk, some Christmas and birthday gifts, some from a couple of yard sales towards the end of last year. And still I can't help borrowing books from the library. I think I have a problem  ::) ;D

I've started making furniture out of mine. You know, stack 'em up and throw a cloth over them and ta dah...you have an end table. I've been co-managing (on the side) a used book story for the last 7 years, so...

And yes it is a sickness.

Been stuck 50 pages into The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastard, #1, Scott Lynch), not entirely sure if I like the book just yet.

So, I'm juggling with 40 books on writing (I wish I was kidding, all are open on various programs, coffee tables, sofas, etc.)

Personally, I loved it.

Zephyr, TLOLL is literally one of my favourite books! Seriously, stick with it, it gets really really good. Red Seas Under Red Skies too is great, but The Republic Of Thieves is only ok.

I stumbled upon it while I was trolling goodreads for ideas, I think I might have to start over, because I was listening to it on a kindle (it's jolly good when someone reads to you, even if they are a tad robotic) and I was travelling to Glasgow, so I might or might not have missed entire segments while trying to listen for boarding calls. Airports.

It does look quite well-written and all, but possibly I have lost the moment where Locke becomes likeable. I will see it through, although it might have to wait while I'm writing my own story, I tend to borrow the style of the books I'm reading, which is a great quality... if I wanted to write fanfiction.

Anyway, not to make this post too off-topic...

Leafing through The Emotion Thesaurus (Angela Ackerman), not because I don't know how emotions should, well, feel, but mostly out of curiosity.
Ars longa, vita brevis... so just in case I also bake.

It's a fantastic book - emotion thesaurus.  There is also a website. The link if you haven't seen it is in our author resource section.
Time to take it serious and get the job done

I just received my ARC of John Boyne's new book "Stay Where You Are, and Then Leave" (goodreads giveaway). I might start reading that… or I could choose from my massive to-read pile. Decisions, decisions.

I'm behind on my popular releases. I know. What I'm reading now is likely "old news" for most of you. But I'm currently reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire and I have Stephen King's latest Doctor Sleep on Audible for when I'm on the road at the moment. (I'm on the road a lot for my day job as a driver.)

Is there something that you're looking forward to coming out this year? A recommendation to add to my reading list that is fiction or even something writing or creativity related?

Sorry, I'm new here and just trying to jump into the fray. If I'm intruding I apologize.

Of course you're not intruding! I loved Dr Sleep btw, and I guess I'm looking forward to whatever SK brings out next. And also the next Jack Reacher novel.
