THE Julie Andrews?!

Just started Zadie Smith's 'White Teeth'. Very funny so far.

Yes, the Julie Andrews but she's credited as Julie Edwards.

Picking it up from the library tomorrow :)

Otherwise, I'm about halfway through Nick Hornby's "A Long Way Down."

I'm reading, The Flash Fiction #60 is now open! Why's there three threads? Anyone?
Oh ok, ok. I'm reading a new take on the Salem Witch trials, called The Salem Witch Society by K.N. Shields, only so far there hasn't been a whiff of a witch, a trial or even a mention of Salem! ha ha

Aw I've read this Jeanette, freaky, told you we had similar taste. Had to say though I gave up on it half way through. Let me know what you think.

I finished it this morning. I found the concept interesting, but some of the writing rather... I don't know how to describe it. The pace was really uneven, it didn't flow well. Lots of cliches. I honestly felt glad that I had borrowed it from the library and not purchased it. Told hubby last night that I felt sort of ripped off... that I felt somewhat committed to finish the story even though I found the writing style hard to navigate :P Oh well. And it apparently made the New York Times bestseller list too.

I have on my shelf "American Dervish"... I can't remember who posted about this earlier in the thread. Gayle maybe? That's my next one :)

Wow you're devouring them. Totally agree, Jeanette, there was something just not right with it. Even though it was an adult book it felt like it had been written by a child. Like you said lots of cliches.

Just can't finish Time Travellers Wife - not sure what all the hype was about. Unusual at first but now grating. Downloaded The Night Circus by Erin Morgernstern. High hopes for this one. Also listening to The Hunger Games on audio. It's a tough one this. I've read so many good reviews but its not a normal read.
