A Dance with Dragons - George R.R. Martin

(finally got my hands on it)  ;D

Just finished it! Overlong, but still some very exciting chapters. Series has gone downhill since the glory of Storm of Swords, though.

I'll admit that Storm was glorious but I don't think it's going downhill. The middle of a series is tough to write and Martin had to make some really hard choices.

A lot of the villians from the beginning of the series were humanized in A Feast for Crows. I thought that made the entire series stronger.

Jaime's chapters in FEAST were brilliant, but I do think a lot of the chapters were fairly boring. I missed Tyrion and Arya, too. DANCE was a bit better, but I still thought it could have done with a good edit.

Go! Mutants! by Larry Doyle (Simpsons Writer)

Its hilarious it blends modern day humor with 50's era sci-fi I haven't stopped laughing.

My two favorite quotes are:

Quote
"He found himself face to face with a tree that ate women, unfortunately for him today that Tree was bi-curean"

and

Quote
"Principle Brooks was a women who once worked for the FBI seducing and torturing hundreds of men, usually at the same time, this of course made her the perfect fit for a future career in higher education"

I just finished Unbrokenby Laura Hillenbrand, the author of Seabiscuit for my library book group. It is  the story of Louis Zamperini's war career and capture. It is riviting.
