Whist I'm semi-crocked and not able to get around much I'm dipping into the 'book trunk' on the landing, where we keep books that are too good to give away.  I've not been downstairs since Sunday evening.   Because inactivity has been forced in me I often wake in the small hours, feeling wide awake, and need something to red for a while.

Currently re-reading Longitude by Dava Sobel.  A strangely fascinating book.

The other day I was reduced to re-reading my own novel, Running Scared, from 1978.  I still reckon it's a pretty good yarn, but I know the story too well to really enjoy any of the twists and turns.

I'm going to lie down again in a few minutes and go back to Longitude.

My website is currently having a holiday, but will return like the $6,000,000 man.  Bigger, stronger, etc.

In the meantime, why not take pity on a starving author and visit my book sales page at http://stores.lulu.com/gyppo1

I grabbed this book, to be honest, from the bargain bin, with intentions of giving it to my daughter. I had to work out of town and knowing how mind numbingly boring that can be at times, I grabbed it at the last minute and then couldn't put it down.

Its a true story about a girl who was unlucky enough to find herself in the clutches of a serial stalker here in Sydney.

Stalked

Chris Smith.

Dear John

Nicholas Sparks

A mediocre book but still enjoyable in a Mills and Boonish type of way.  :)

I am reading Angela's Ashes by the late Frank McCourt. a heart warming and poignant book about his child hood. Growing up in Ireland during the depression. It inspired me to write a book of memoirs due for release soon. :)
