The Passage by Justin Cronin. First third tightly focused on well drawn characters but then it jumps forward a couple of generations. Whole new cast of characters surviving in post vampire apocalypse. Hung in there because I (rightly) figured the Amy character would show up again. Spoiler, she does, but not till two thirds in. Good writer gets away with it.

1. The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac. The edition I have is introduced by Ann Douglas, and it is one of the best critical introductions I've read. It offers vital historical and political context without which the book would have less sympathetic readers. So far the book has been good. The prose rolls on and on, but in a good way mostly.
2. Other than that I'm reading some introductory material on transductive reasoning as part of my personal goal to develop some familiarity with formal logic.

The Mammoth Book of Conspiracy Theories. The things some people believe 😉 but a great source of ideas.
