Just finished John Boyne's new one, "A History of Loneliness" last night. Really enjoy his writing, but man am I ever going to need a more uplifting story to go onto after that  :-\
It's good to laugh at yourself once in a while - why let everyone else have all the fun!

Yay, I can buy more books. Yeah, I set myself the goal of getting back into the reading habit after realising toward the end of last year that my reading was quietly, comfortably, imperceptibly tailing off. :-[ So it's one a week this year to get me back in the saddle, although I'm selective about the length: more that 300 pages is a challenge for me to get through in one week, so there's a couple of biggie's - The Tin Drum and Up In the Old Hotel - waiting for a holiday week.

I know, I'm a couple of years behind the rest of the reading world, but I just finished The Goldfinch and loved it. Well, it was a 500-page book crammed into 800 pages, but otherwise, wonderful!

I still haven't read Goldfinch, Kate, but I loved both The Secret History and The Little Friend. They're both by Donna Tartt, as well.

The Secret History is brilliant.
