I know nothing in the world that has as much power as a word. Sometimes I write one, and I look at it, until it begins to shine.

When once the itch of literature comes over a man, nothing can cure it but the scratching of a pen.
~Samuel Lover

~George Bernard Shaw

Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream things that never were and ask why not.

Quotes from M*A*S*H

When it's cold, as it is today. The doctor cuts into a patient and steam will rise from the body.
The doctor will warm himself over the open wound. How could anyone see that and not be changed.

William Christopher as Father Mulcahy.

There are certain rules about war.
Rule number one is young men die.
Rule number two is, doctors can't change rule number one.

McLean Stevenson [RIP] as Henry Blake [RIP]

The first time my little girl ever called anybody daddy and it wasn't me.

Mike Farrell as BJ

And my personal favourite.

Ladies and Gentlemen take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.
     - Maya Angelou

The story - from Rumplestiltskin to War and Peace - is one of the basic tools invented by the human mind, for the purpose of gaining understanding. There have been great societies that did not use the wheel, but there have been no societies that did not tell stories.
     - Ursula K. Le Guin

The disciplines of storytelling require that I shape, out of the monotony and everyday life of espionage, something that has a beginning, a middle and an end. That's already contrary to the reality.
     - John le Carré

It's a damned good story. If you have any comments, write them on the back of a check.
     - Erle Stanley Gardner, 1889 - 1970

To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right.

~Confucius
