Self-Publishing Central / See what's being published by Indie authors
« on: September 13, 2017, 01:24:29 PM »
A group of Indie authors has got together to run a 99p/99c promotion across all genres/e-readers (including me and I think 2 others from this forum - perhaps they will reveal themselves!).
It offers a great opportunity for writers to sample, at a low price, what else is currently being published in their genre.

Do you work in IT for a largish organisation? The beginning of this novel will stress you. But it's cleverly done to educate as well as entertain.

The Writers Circle / Creative Writing Prompts
« on: June 23, 2016, 05:13:03 AM »
Where do you get your ideas?

I think that's the most common question asked of writers. Mostly I think we just pick them up from the world around us but sometimes it can be a struggle.
I've listed on my blog a few places supplying creative writing prompts for those times when the mind is blank:

Self-Publishing Central / Best price point for novels on KDP?
« on: June 16, 2016, 04:01:43 AM »
People often say to me that they only download free or 99p books from Amazon. This is annoying because I think a novel is worth more than 99p (especially when it's had a professional edit, cover design etc.). But it's made me think I should experiment with lowering the price of my psychological thriller and see if it generates 4.5 times more sales in order to make it a better long term price point.
Have written about it on my blog:

Did anyone else attend the UK Self Publishing Conference?
Here's what I took away from it:
