Post by: blhuie on July 06, 2017, 09:44:59 AM
It would seem that our host for this challenge is M.I.A., so I am calling for re-submissions. Please send them to me, Skylan, via Private Message by Monday, October 9th.

Regards, Skylan (http://mywriterscircle.com/index.php?action=profile;u=43724)

Dig up you dread for this contest.

Write your poem about a fear, any style. Scariest wins.

Last entry date will be 9th October 2017
PM the entries to me

Best Wishes,
B

Your prompt was fine, Richard. These writers are lame. And I guess I have to include myself. I love to enter the contests, and would have this time, but I am sick of entering a contest with one or two others. Maybe fall will bring some new enthusiasm.

no prob about the winner then eh?  ;D

People always talk about the "summer break" and the lull in entries, but there are enough people on the poetry boards posting. As I said mate I was away and completely forgot. Thought deadline was end of August :(

Do you think it would be a problem to extend the deadline?

Hi all, I'm back from hols (huge sigh of disrelief  :) )
Hope blhuie gets some support, it's missheartening to unget much support  ???
I was going to say that I'd enter...but that might be an unpositive!
So I'll just thank b for holding the contest, and say 'shame on you' to the people
who could have and should have entered...like me!

Nobody's entering any of the contests because there is so little support, there's an excellent chance if you enter, you win (and host the next challenge). It is sad. I used to enter them all. And would again ... if others would ... and it'd be a real competition.

My great fear is I might win the challenge if I enter and then be stuck with the next one.

I'm in. I think. It's a busy week for me but I think I can roll one out. That's scary enough for me! Sept 3rd for the deadline?

Hey Blhuie, you probably already know this and I believe it is mentioned in the Challenge information thread, but for those of us who tend to skim and forget instructions when it comes to these kinds of things  ;D  sometimes it helps to pop in one of the games, such as, Last Person to Post Here Wins  (http://mywriterscircle.com/index.php?topic=27773.0) or into The MWC/Red Barren Bar (http://mywriterscircle.com/index.php?topic=5732.123075) to promote your challenge with a link and some friendly goading, if you are comfortable with that.

Also, maybe try to encourage a newbie or two from the Welcome Board (http://mywriterscircle.com/index.php?board=1.0) and see if we can get some more enthusiasm into this forum.

That's how I entered a short story competition for the first time. Mark gave me a little nudge. When I read my story a few years later I was appalled but I'm grateful to have learned, forgotten, and re-learned a few things.

The more you write, the better your writing becomes.

Best of luck.

~Deb

Exactly.

I have no fear here and profound confidence in my lack of ability to capture a win in this competition. ;D

blhuie,
Your attention is required here. Several poets supported your challenge...now's the time to fulfill your responsibilities.
If you are unsure how to continue, contact one of the Mods, or me.
If there's no contact from blhuie within 12 hours I'll take over?
V, I always write 'straight'! We should copy and paste from a saved file...think we're giving our ages away  :)
The Poetry site is seriously struggling...think us 'older' members need to become more active. Your recent stuff was so good I'm surprised you're not posting more?
Think I flew over your house last night on the way back from Venice...well maybe not...but I was closer to you than I've ever been  ;D

He hasn't logged on since late September mate. Skylan tried contacting and no reply. He is asking for the poets to re-submit their poems and send them to him and he will put the poll up

Is there a per person entry limit and has the deadline been extended again?
Title: Re: Sticky: Poetry challenge July 2017 UPDATE

I semi-extended it to October 6th and added the into to the first post in this thread.

There is no limit to the amount of entries allowed per user. I'll put up the entries I received tomorrow (about 24 hours from now).
