Just noticed that this is a "contest". What's the prize? Bragging rights would be enough. But just wondering, nonetheless.

The winner gets bragging rights and also sets the next challenge

You also win 100 kudos. Collect 3 million of them and you can trade them in for one American cent.

Newbie here. How do submissions work for this, logistics and otherwise?

Miggseye,

Entries are submitted via personal message. Under LC1's avatar you'll see three icons. The one on the far right, the little talk bubble, will open a PM window. You can then copy and paste your entry, but be sure to preview before sending. Sometimes the formatting goes wonky and you'll have to tweak.

Thanks for the clarifications LC1, Laura H and Skylan. Another question. Does the tense of the prompt matter for the competition? i.e. Would one be disqualified if he used "The door opens" instead of "The door opened"?

Sorry. it has to be the door opened. It can however appear anywhere in the story.

I am sorry I made a typo on the closing date. I meant to close it on Friday 12th September but wrote the 14th. If anyone else was going to enter I apologise. We have a great bunch of entries though and I only hope everyone who was planning on entering did so already. Sorry again
