Title: Globe-trotting Daughter
Post by: bri h on February 26, 2013, 11:57:11 AM
Hiya all Thought I'd share this with you. It's a message from my daughter as she globe-trots her way round the world on a seven month holiday. she started in New york, then Vegas, California, Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, went trekking to the Nazcar Lines, then flew to Thailand. I'm so jealous cos she dares to do the things I didn't dare to when I was her age. Cheers. Bri.

Hi dad how are you? I've been in Thailand for the last month and I'm now in Cambodia. Today we went to Angkor Wat! And we went to the temple where they filmed tomb raider! I'll send you some pics! Thought you would appreciate this haha.
I also went trekking through the jungle on an elephant last week - it was awesome.
What have you been doin? Say hi to Christine for me :)

Xxxx

Can't wait for her to get back so I can tell her about those sooo unnecessary exclamation marks.  ;D ;D

She had to watch her friends goin out week after week for 3 yrs as she saved all her cash. Work and save. I'd have spent it many times over. ;D
She's sent some great pics but they're too big for here. Would love to post em, but I can't. xbx

I have heard talk of flickr mate, give it a burl. There should be something there that says upload or similar.

Then search your computer and try one at a time to start.

Have you got all the pics you want to upload in the one file?

On flickr, there should be a spot you can pick a link up to the photo.

It may give you different options like email, direct, html etc, can you find that on one of the pics?

Have you been to those places too Laura ?

The Grand Canyon, yes,  and I highly recommend the trip.  The North Rim is amazing and it was the first trip where I wasn't ready to leave when the time came.  Bonneville Flats I haven't seen in person, but my husband drove it on a motorcycle trip in the 1980's and described the overwhelming smell of salt and the flat, white expanse as far as the eye could see.

If you've seen the movie The World's Fastest Indian with Anthony Hopkins - that's the Bonneville Salt Flats.  Good movie, too.

She's in Cambodia at the minute, then Thailand for a month or so. Then she goes back home. I really really really hope she comes to see me first. xbx
