Title: I have my book on Lulu
Post by: Dasherwood on November 07, 2010, 12:24:03 AM
Hey, i worked through a bunch of editing and finally got my book on Lulu. The cover art was done by a gentleman in NZ, Lincol Renall. He did a great job on it. Some of my beta readers were daughters from griends at work. Madison is 12, and Diana is 13, and they enjoyed it.

Congratulations, Dave. And, yes, love the cover image! I'll bear Mr Renall in mind for any future projects where I need artwork.

Hope the book sells well.

I agree, the cover art is outstanding.  Good on you for finding such a talented artist to design this for you.

Congratulations on getting your work out there also. Well done.

Smiles,
Alice

It's obvious that Cover Art from an Artist can make it really stand out, and can make it totally 'Tailormade' for Fiction Books! For my own tiny little ebook on Lulu I simply used a photo made with my digital camera, but I do think that especially Fiction cannot easily be captured with photography.

But if someone is handy with photo shop, they can create amazing images for two or more photos combined.

My son and a friend of his took some of his photos, combined them in a very creative way with the image of his wedding ring in the forefront and some lettering added to the ring.

It was the perfect (in my opinion) cover for the stories inside.

Yes, with photo shop the possiblities indeed are limitless, I have seen some amazing things done with photo shop, only I do think than you might be back to it really being Art again.
