Title: Short Stories Wanted!
Post by: Rebecca800 on November 11, 2008, 11:11:47 PM

I am looking to publish an anthology of short stories on the themes of:

- lucid dreaming
- dreams and consciousness
- alternate / virtual realities
- out of body travel
- precognitive / mutual dreams

The stories are for a mainstream audience, all genres are welcome but intriguing / inspirational stories are more likely to be accepted (no horror please). Twists in the tail are also welcome. Up to 3,000 words.

Published stories will receive a portion of profits, to be agreed on acceptance. The anthology will be distributed via www.World-of-Lucid-Dreaming.com (http://www.World-of-Lucid-Dreaming.com) and via the online merchant, Clickbank.

Please send your story in Word, Text or PDF format with a synopsis and your full contact details to: rebecca [at] cre8ve.co.nz   The target publication date is Jan/Feb 2009.

Thanks!

Hi there,
Yes I will accept previously published stories, so long as it doesn't violate any existing copyright.

I am writing a werewolf one, i know it's halloween based but the girl the main charactor is dreaming lucidly about the attacks the night they happen, and as they happen, would you accept that?

Hi. If the central theme is lucid dreaming, that would be fine.

Although, I suspect your werewolf story falls into the category of horror? I want to avoid this since a) the book is for all ages and b) I want to portray lucidity in a positive light.  There are already books & films about dreams gone bad or monsters becoming real through dreams (Dreamscape / Dreamside / numerous horror films!) whereas this is all about inspiring people to take up lucid dreaming, taking a fun look at the potential of connecting the subconscious and conscious mind through dreams.

If you still think it would fit, do send me your ideas!

Thanks
Rebecca

Well, Ben, perhaps you did not notice but the deadline was 12-31-08 and you were already told how to submit.  What part of that was not clear?

Excuse Eric's sarcasm, Ben, but he is correct. I have deleted your email address from your message; we do not encourage doing this, as it is likely it will be picked up by spammers.

If you want to contact Rebecca to see if she is still accepting submissions (you never know), either email her at the address in her original post or send her a PM (personal message) via the forum.

Good luck, and don't forget to take a moment to introduce yourself on the Welcome board.

Hi Green Danni,

Welcome to the forum.

Look at the post dates, Dear.

Don't be embarrassed, we all make this mistake once in awhile. Hope you stick around and become part of the gang.
